Bird City Revolutionaries with Cadillac Jones

Jazz Music Reggae Soul

What’s Happening?

BIRD CITY REVOLUTIONARIES

The Bird City Revolutionaries blend reggae, dub,

Afro-funk, Ethiopian jazz, and psychedelic grooves to

create a sound as dynamic and diverse as their

members. Formed in October 2011, the band brings

together veteran musicians from some of Atlanta’s

most beloved reggae, dub, and jazz projects,

resulting in a genre-defying musical experience.

Bird City was born from the creative synergy of multi-

instrumentalist and songwriter Julian Scott Bryan,

bassist Larry Thomas, and guitarist Saude, longtime

collaborators in Atlanta’s reggae and dub scene.

Drawing on their experiences with I-Tegrity and The

Ruination, the trio began writing and jamming,

eventually expanding their lineup with trusted

friends and fellow musicians.

Daniel Labrador, a former bandmate of Julian Scott’s

in 3052 Dub Collective, brought his signature guitar

style to the mix. Keyboardist Julian Morena enriched

the soundscape with lush textures, while

percussionist Eric Brown energized the rhythms with

his dynamic style. Finally, saxophonist Phil Floyd

joined to complete the group, contributing his

distinctive wind instrumentation and boundless

creativity.

Together, the Bird City Revolutionaries craft an

eclectic and unforgettable musical journey, inspiring

audiences to move, groove, and soar.

CADILLAC JONES

Atlanta's Jazz Funk Powerhouse.

Cadillac Jones started in 2000 in a basement just up the road from East Atlanta. The band cut its teeth performing at The Village, which would eventually become 529. Now, after over 16 years of touring and five albums, the band has evolved into a six piecefunk/jazz orchestra with its own voice and sense of purpose. Their music is steeped in the classics like James Brown, Herbie Hancock and the Blackbyrds, spiced with influences ranging from 60’s organ grooves to 70’s arena funk, with the occasional 80’s inspired breakbeats mixed in for good measure. All this is tied together with one common thread: make sure the audience leaves with their minds relaxed, their eardrums tickled, and their bodies sore but satisfied.
