What’s Happening?

About:

The Black Keys:
The Black Keys are a garage rock duo from Akron, Ohio made up of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. Upon dropping out of college, the duo began making a number of self-produced albums together, including The Big Come Up (2002), Thickfreakness (2003), Rubber Factory (2004) and Magic Potion (2006). The band’s fifth studio set, Attack and Release (2008), marked a turning point — not only was it their first project to be recorded in a professional studio, but they also found a producer in Danger Mouse, who would go on to become a frequent collaborator. The Black Keys’ commercial breakthrough occurred with the 2010 release of Brothers and its 2011 follow-up El Camino. Both landed in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 and the former earned the band their first Grammy win for Best Alternative Music Album. Their 2014 LP Turn Blue became their first No. 1 album on the all-genre chart, with later studio sets including Let’s Rock (2019), Delta Kream (2021) and Dropout Boogie (2022). The band’s twelfth studio album Ohio Players was released in 2024.

The Heavy Heavy:
The Heavy Heavy is a band from Brighton, UK, led by Will Turner and Georgie Fuller. They resurrect the music the sixties forgot with bombastic soul and reverberant harmonies. Springing from the roots of the Malvern Hills and Sussex Downs, The Heavy Heavy will be touring throughout North America and the UK in fall 2022.
