The Logan Center for the Arts and Hyde Park Jazz Society presents Third Tuesday Jazz: Reginald Robinson

Join pianist Reginald Robinson at our Third Tuesday Jazz Series season with an intimate solo performance in Café Logan.

Reginald Robinson, winner of the distinguished MacArthur Award for his innovative ragtime piano works and music research, performs and shares fascinating ragtime history. Reginald was commissioned by Symphony Center Jazz to write a music work honoring early jazz musician and conductor James Reese Europe. He’s also performed at New York’s Schomburg Center for Black Culture. His music has been used in theater and film, such as the documentary Chicago’s Black Metropolis. He is internationally known for his college and university lectures, which help preserve the legacy of African American history.

ABOUT THE SERIES
The Hyde Park Jazz Society selects local jazz musicians and those with a Chicago connection to perform on the third Tuesday of the month from October to June at Café Logan. The Café will offer its full menu for purchase, including wine, beer, and a coffee bar.

Third Tuesday Jazz is presented by the Logan Center, Hyde Park Jazz Society, and 90.9FM WDCB Jazz Radio with support from the Robert S. Guttman Family Charitable Fund and friends of the Logan Center.

Admission is free; suggested donation $5, seating is first come, first served.
Parking is free in surface lot at 60th and Drexel Avenue.
