FREE | Make Beaded Bracelets at the Night Market

Community Discussion Arts & Culture Classes

What’s Happening?

Get crafty at the Night Market with this agriculture-inspired, hands-on activity. The three sisters method is an ancient agricultural practice of planting corn, beans and squash together. These plants support each other’s growth, symbolizing how communities thrive through cooperation and mutual support.

As we make bracelets together during this season of gratitude and harvest, we will reflect on the importance of food and community and explore how working together can create synergy for an even greater outcome.

Event Highlights:

Introduction to The 3 Sisters: Learn about the significance of The 3 Sisters as a sustainable farming practice and a powerful metaphor for community strength and diversity.

Bracelet/Beading Activity: Create your own bracelet using strings of varying thicknesses and colors, beads, and clasps. This hands-on activity symbolizes the interconnectedness and support within a community.

Interactive Discussion: Engage in a discussion on how the principles of The 3 Sisters can be applied to our lives, families, companies, and communities to enhance cooperation and resilience.

Materials Provided:

Strings of varying thicknesses and colors
Beads
Clasps
Scissors

What to Bring:

Your creativity and willingness to participate in a meaningful activity

Explore the Village during the Night Market!

Don’t forget, there’s much more to do during the Night Market. Get your shopping done as you take in the rustic charm of the Village. Explore more than 30 local vendors offering organic delights and hand-crafted treasures.

LOCATION | This activity takes place exclusively at Vizcaya Village, the estate’s historic farm village, and does not include access to the east side of the property where the Main House and gardens are located.

VIZCAYA FAMILY PROGRAMS | This series is designed to create opportunities for intergenerational interactions among families.

To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.
