What’s Happening?

“Sassy, smart and historically minded, [Russell] has the jazz world abuzz.” – Los Angeles Times

“John Pizzarelli is a living encyclopedia of the best popular music that the west has ever produced.” – James Taylor

World-renowned guitarist, vocalist, and Grammy Award winner John Pizzarelli has dedicated many of his albums to the great songwriters and performers who have helped to establish the Great American Songbook and the pop music canon: Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Richard Rodgers, and Duke Ellington, to name just a few.

As a long-time radio personality, Pizzarelli is co-host, alongside wife Jessica Molaskey, of Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli. He has been welcomed by popular television hosts such as Jimmy Fallon, Conan O’Brien, Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Regis Philbin.

Grammy-nominated vocalist Catherine Russell, when asked to characterize her new album, Send For Me, replied, “I love romance that swings.” Her mission is finding songs that you might not have heard but that deserve attention. “Songs that inspire or touch me in some way. When I find a song I like, it haunts me until I learn it.”

Russell’s deep connection to her chosen material is part of a calling. As the daughter of pioneering and legendary musicians Luis Russell and Carline Ray, Russell was born into jazz royalty, so the vocalist swims in familiar waters. She sings a language that comes naturally, furthering a profound legacy. Her new album sources inspiration from Billie Holiday, Betty Carter, Kay Starr, Earl King, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and so many more.
