What’s Happening?

Ed Sakwa is the CEO at Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse – Tucson’s only comprehensive domestic violence service provider.  He has served as Emerge’s CEO since April 2013, after serving the organization in various other capacities since 2008.

Ed graduated from Cholla High School here in Tucson, and then completed his undergraduate degree in marketing and business administration at the University of Arizona and Master of Business Administration at James Madison University.  His 29-year tenure in human services includes work in the areas of domestic violence, youth development, and nonprofit grant-making.  He has served on numerous boards of directors and community committees, including the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual & Domestic Violence, the Governor’s Commission to Prevent Intimate Partner & Gender-based Violence, and the Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness.
