Our Unfinished Stories Retreat with Diane M. Millis, PhD

Self-care

What’s Happening?

More and more people are trying to make sense of the space between what they thought their lives were going to be and what they actually are.

This retreat is designed for all those who need time to listen deeply to the stories they are telling about their lives. Our facilitator, Dr. Diane Millis, will introduce us to an array of approaches for mining the meaning in our stories and exploring God’s presence in them.

Through prayer, reflection, writing, and conversation with others, Diane will guide us through a process for discovering a more promising story for our lives. She writes in her book, Re-Creating a LIfe, “It’s not what we’ve experienced that defines us, but the stories we tell about our experiences.”

Join us to develop your capacity to author a story that more closely reflects who you currently are and who you are being called to become.

Suggested reading:  Re-Creating a Life:  Learning How to Tell Our Most Life-giving Story by Diane Millis.  Books will be available at Books and Blessings at the Franciscan Renewal Center.

Fee:  Single $300, including meals and lodging;  Commuter $150, including meals. Pre-registration required.
