What’s Happening?

From the ofrendas of Dia de los Muertos to butsudan in Japanese Buddhist homes, many different cultures create spaces for honoring ancestors. As the days grow shorter, join us for a reflective art workshop that reflects on those who came before us. Through simple mixed-media assemblage, participants will create a personal altar or remembrance piece that celebrates family, chosen family, mentors, cultural heritage or loved ones who have shaped their lives.

No prior art experience is needed. All materials will be provided, and participants are invited to bring copies of photographs or small paper mementos they may wish to incorporate into their artwork.

Studio Saturdays is a series of adult art making classes designed to inspire creativity and connection through multimedia arts exploration. Each class includes an arts activity that will inspire collaboration, curiosity and creativity, culminating in a completed individual artwork and communal sharing.
