The Gathering

Community

What’s Happening?

The Gathering is a free Christian music and worship event taking place Saturday, October 3, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater in Columbia. Although the entire community is welcome, the event has a special focus on reaching high-school students with a message of hope.

The Gathering began after two separate groups prayed for the young people of Columbia. Hearing the same concern expressed twice led me to ask, "What can we do?" That question grew into this community event.

Christian speaker Ross Johnston is traveling from Seattle to share the Gospel message. The program will also feature live Gospel and worship music. Local student ambassadors are being recruited to welcome students and connect those who respond to the message with churches, youth ministries and other resources after the event.

Something is stirring.

Across high schools, college campuses, churches, and communities, people are searching for truth, purpose, and a faith that is real. We believe God is moving-and that this movement is coming to Columbia through The Gathering.

On Saturday, October 3, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., people from across Mid-Missouri are invited to come together at Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater for an inspiring outdoor evening centered on Jesus. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

The Gathering will bring believers, families, students, friends, churches, and community members together for worship, the Word of God, and a shared experience of His presence. Whether you have followed Jesus for many years, are returning to faith, or are simply curious about who Jesus is, this event is for you. No matter your background or where you are on your spiritual journey, you are invited to come, listen, worship, and discover what God may be stirring in your own life.

Featured speaker Ross Johnston has a special heart for reaching young people and encouraging believers to live their faith openly and courageously. His message will challenge those who already believe while offering a clear and welcoming invitation to those who are still asking questions. The program will also feature heartfelt worship and opportunities for people of all ages to respond personally to the message of hope found in Jesus.

The Gathering is more than another event on the community calendar. It is an opportunity to step away from the noise and pressure of everyday life, gather with others in a beautiful setting, and focus on what matters most. It is a chance for parents and grandparents to bring the next generation, for young people to encounter faith in a meaningful way, and for churches throughout the region to stand together around a shared purpose.

Bring your family. Invite a friend, neighbor, classmate, or coworker. Come with your church group-or come on your own and know that you will be welcomed.

Join us at Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater on Saturday, October 3, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. for The Gathering. Admission is free. Come expecting an uplifting evening of worship, truth, community, and the possibility that God is doing something new in Columbia.
