Art Gallery Paintings Art Exhibition

What’s Happening?

South Gallery | January 15th — March 14th | Opening Reception: January 15th from 5:30pm — 8:30pm | Awards Reception: February 6th from 6pm — 8pm

“For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. Students ages 11, 12 or 13 as of November 15 are eligible to participate in the International Peace Poster Contest…

For peace to be anything more than a possibility, we need to make it a priority. The achievement of peace provides the foundation for the broader inclusion of all persons and communities, the fostering of unity between people with diverse backgrounds and even divergent worldviews, and the opportunity for greater equity for all. These building blocks must be laid not only in the current but in future generations as we enlist the best and brightest minds in creating stronger communities for all. The Peace Poster Contest achieves each of these goals in unique ways that will impact not only Summerville, but the Charleston region, the Lowcountry, and beyond.”
