October 25 | The Great Gatsby (2013)
Celebrate Mia’s exhibition “Gatsby at 100” with Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 film interpretation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby. Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the captivating world and lavish East Coast lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby, during the Jazz Age of the 1920s. As time goes on, Nick witnesses the faults and tragedies of these characters.

November 29 | Smoke Signals (1998)
Honor Native American Heritage Month with Smoke Signals. Childhood friends Thomas and Victor travel from the Coeur d’Alene reservation in Idaho to Arizona to retrieve the ashes of Victor’s father, Arnold. Along the way they struggle with their friendship, reckon with their varying feelings about Arnold, and grapple with their cultural identities both on and off the reservation.

December 27 | Edward Scissorhands (1990)
A film fit for a winter’s day! A scientist builds a human being, Edward, but dies before he can finish, leaving his creation with scissors for hands. A caring but sheltered Avon saleswoman, Peg, finds Edward and takes him home. Edward’s sweet nature and artistic talents initially woo neighbors, but Edward remains an outcast of the community.

January 31 | Dial M for Murder (1954)
Start your year off with a good old-fashioned thriller. In this classic film from Alfred Hitchcock, greed and revenge drive ex-tennis star Tony Wendice as he plots to have his wealthy wife, Margot (Grace Kelly), killed. But his meticulous plans are ruined, and Tony struggles to stay in control.
