What’s Happening?

Two-time Grammy nominee Benito Gonzalez is a pianist who electrifies every room he enters. Seamlessly blending a deep lineage of American jazz traditions with global rhythms, Benito’s sound is fiery, spiritual, and unmistakably his own.

He’s performed with legends like Kenny Garrett, Pharoah Sanders, Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, and Al Foster – and his playing carries that same fearless mastery. Whether reimagining McCoy Tyner classics, diving into a Coltrane favorite, or unleashing his own powerful compositions, Benito brings the house down with every set.

After winning first prize at the Great American Jazz Piano Competition, Benito’s debut album Starting Point (featuring Christian McBride and Antonio Sanchez) established him as a pianist to watch. His acclaimed record Passion Reverence Transcendence revealed an artist with a singular voice, honoring his heroes while carving his own path.

From headlining international festivals to serving as musical director for Pharoah Sanders, Benito continues to build a legacy rooted in authenticity, intensity, and boundless creativity.
