Stress & Trauma (Psoas) Release Yoga Workshop & Training

Yoga Meditation Mental Health

What’s Happening?

Discover and learn to facilitate the powerful somatic healing practice of Psoas Release Yoga.

So...what is Psoas (so-as) Release Yoga?

Psoas Release is a form of somatic yoga therapy designed to assist our body’s innate ability to release stress and trauma – physically, mentally, and  emotionally. The practice targets the psoas muscle (“fight or flight muscle”), a large muscle in our lower torso that connects the thigh bone to the thoracic spine.

On a functional level, the psoas muscle assists with hip-flexion. More importantly, this muscle is essentially hard-wired to our fight-or-flight response. For most of us, the psoas muscle is overused due to the high-levels of stress in our society and any personal traumas we have experienced in our lifetime. This overuse causes the psoas muscle to become short, tight, and hard, resulting in musculoskeletal imbalance or dysfunction, emotional dysregulation, mental health challenges, and much more.

Designed specifically for stress release and trauma recovery, this practice helps you to retrain your body to energetically release held fear, stress, and the big and small traumas of life that get trapped in our tissues – without needing to recall or relive the experiences.

Based on the scientifically proven methods of Dr. David Berceli, an international expert in the areas of trauma intervention and conflict resolution, you will learn how to heal yourself, as well as guide others toward resolving trauma in a natural and holistic way.

Led by Inspiritus Yoga founder, Yoga Teacher Trainer & Yoga Therapist, Dawn Hopkins. Offered in three formats: in-person, online via Zoom, or self-paced by recording.
