Collidoscope: de la Torre Brother Retro-Perspective

Museum Exhibit Multi-Cultural Art Exhibition

What’s Happening?

Collidoscope, a playful fusion of the words "collision" and "kaleidoscope," is a celebration of the 30-year creative journey of internationally renowned artists and brothers Einar and Jamex de la Torre. The de la Torre brothers, renowned for their vibrant glass, mixed-media sculptures, and lenticulars, deliver works that challenge societal norms.

The exhibition is further enhanced by a curated soundtrack inspired by their creative process, inviting visitors to explore the playful yet profound layers of their work. This exhibition is a riotous celebration of culture, color, and creativity.

Witness the world through the eyes of the de la Torre brothers as they invite you to look closer, think deeper, and appreciate art as both a playful expression and a powerful commentary on the world.

About the artists:
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Einar (1960) and Jamex (1963) de la Torre moved to California with their Danish-Mexican mother in 1972, where they began experimenting with glass and later expanded to mixed-media works. Rejecting minimalist trends, they embraced a maximalist aesthetic, drawing on diverse cultural influences, including Hindu spirituality, Flemish Surrealism, and German Expressionism.
