2025 Day of Resilience

Community Festival Special & Fun Runs

What’s Happening?

Now in its 10th year, the Day of Resilience is the 7/20 Memorial Foundation’s signature annual event that transforms a place of remembrance into a space for community renewal and resilience. Held near the 7/20 Memorial, the event welcomes survivors, families, first responders, mental health advocates, and supporters for a day of healing, reflection, and togetherness.

This year’s highlights include:

The Hero’s Journey 5K + Kids Run – A symbolic walk/run honoring lives lost and celebrating the journey of healing held in partnership with the Aurora Public Schools Foundation to raise funds for the Zack Golditch Opportunity Scholarship (ZGOS). Race registration costs $15 - $40.

The Day of Resilience Festival - A vibrant community event featuring live music, powerful chalk art murals, a wellness fair with trauma-informed resources, and a welcoming beer garden and food trucks, all in support of the 7/20 Memorial Foundation’s mission of healing and resilience. Free to attend.

Created in response to the July 20, 2012 mass tragedy in Aurora, the 7/20 Memorial Foundation remains committed to supporting survivors and building a legacy of healing for communities affected by tragedy. The Day of Resilience embodies this mission through action, art, and advocacy.
