Summer Music Series featuring Parker’s Tangent

Rock Performance Art Concert

What’s Happening?

Parker’s Tangent is a fun group playing all original rock music based on blues and roots sources. They have a wonderful female lead singer who has been compared to Grace Slick and Nora Jones, drums, percussion, lead and rhythm guitars, bass and an awesome violin player presenting virtuoso performances. They are a regional, professional working band based out of greater New Haven CT. The music is extremely accessible and can be enjoyed by people of virtually all ages. The music can be poetic, quiet and touching, to bluesy to out and out rocking.

They have been together over twenty years and have performed at hundreds and hundreds of bookings including Toads’ Place, the main stage of the New Haven Green, The International Festival of Arts and Ideas, Westport’s Blues, Views and Bar-B-Que Festival, the Phoenix, the Bedford Playhouse Clive Davis Art Center Long Wharf Theater, the CT Garlic and Harvest Festival and many more.…

More about Connecticut's Old State House
Located in the heart of Hartford, Connecticut’s Old State House was home to all three branches of state government from 1796 to 1878. Some of the state’s most important stories of freedom, democracy, and civic action – from the Amistad and Prudence Crandall trials to the Constitutional Convention of 1818 – connect to this National Historic Landmark. The authentically restored building now offers a mix of historic rooms, modern exhibits, educational programs, tours, and year-round special events focusing on Connecticut history and civics. The site is also home to the “Steward’s Museum of Curiosities,” where Rev. Joseph Steward maintained a portrait studio and unusual collection from 1797-1808. Connecticut’s Old State House, managed in partnership with The Connecticut Democracy Center and the Connecticut General Assembly, is available for private rental. The elegant building and grounds provide a unique backdrop for life celebrations, parties, conferences, lectures, and more. For more information, visit ctoldstatehouse.org.
