Free Summer Midday Music Series for Kids & Family: Jazz Sessions

Jazz Music Educational Summer

What’s Happening?

KMFA’s Free Midday Music Series for Kids & Family presented by Ally Medical Emergency Room returns this summer with three free, interactive events designed to introduce young audiences to the joy of classical music. Hosted in the Draylen Mason Music Studio, each program blends live performance with storytelling, visual art, or film to spark curiosity and creativity in children. Open to all ages and especially suited for preschool and elementary-aged kids, the series offers a fun, welcoming way for families to explore music together while school is out.

Jazz Sessions:

Tuesday, June 10, 2025 | 12:00 PM
Draylen Mason Music Studio at KMFA | 41 Navasota Street, Austin, TX 78702
In partnership with Armstrong Community Music School

Kick off the summer with a hands-on musical adventure! Jazz Sessions introduces kids to the energetic world of jazz through rhythm, improvisation, and group participation. Led by local musicians Paul Matthews and Anthony Basini, this dynamic performance invites children to sing, clap, and move along while learning the building blocks of jazz. The event also features a special appearance by Shanan Colvin, founder of Music Library Box, who will share her Jazz for Lunch book box—a creative, interactive learning kit that brings jazz to life through storytelling, instruments, and crafts.

Cookies & refreshments provided.

FREE with RSVP at kmfa.org/middaymusic.
