Drag Queen Storytime with Miss Shirley

Storytelling

What’s Happening?

Come join us for the Arvada Center's first Drag Queen Storytime with Miss Shirley. This is a fun event filled with laughter, rainbows, and sparkle. Join Miss Shirley as she reads some of her favorite books, perfect for kids of all ages. An accomplished storyteller, Miss Shirley uses stories to celebrate the diversity of our big, beautiful world through the glamorous art of drag. This joyful and uplifting event will have you singing along and put a big smile on your face.

This all-ages event promises a joyful experience for children and families to connect with the fabulous Miss Shirley. Enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks as Miss Shirley leads an interactive story time filled with engaging questions about the books, personal stories from her time as a teacher, and a special Q&A segment, “Ask the Drag Queen.” There will also be opportunities for photos with Miss Shirley for those interested. Don’t be surprised if the event bursts into singing, dancing, and bubbles—it’s all part of the fun!

Some possible book titles include: Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival and Be Who You Are by Todd Parr.
