Davóne Tines & The Truth Performance at Mia

Opera Performance Art Exhibit

What’s Happening?

“Davóne Tines is changing what it means to be a classical singer.”
—Alex Ross, The New Yorker

Davóne Tines, “the must-hear singer of opera today” (Los Angeles Times), and his band The Truth present RITUAL, a musical exploration of human connection and concern. Featuring his work “MASS + THE TRUTH,” Tines distills a historic form to confront what ails our lives in this moment through a synthesis of gospel, anthems, old-school R&B, and chant.

In dialogue with Mia’s exhibition “Giants,” the performance includes ruminations from the public on art and life. In examining personal responses to universal questions, Tines orchestrates an artistic rite of cathartic reflection.

Produced by Liquid Music.

Presented by Mia, in association with “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys.”
