What’s Happening?

Join us for a day in Austin, Texas as we celebrate history through the lens of African descendants. Black history is everyone’s history, April 24th is SAAACAM’s “Day at the Capitol”. It’s the day we take our mission and vision to the capitol for our legislative body to see, hear and acknowledge our work. Your presence is key to our advocacy!

Your purchased ticket reserves you a seat on our chartered bus, which will depart from 3737 Broadway, SATX 78209 on Thursday April 24th PROMPTLY at 6:30am.

Please park your vehicle in the multi-level parking garage located at 3501 Avenue B. We will board the bus to return to San Antonio at 6:30pm.

More about San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum
SAAACAM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to collect, maintain, disseminate and interpret authentic African American artifacts related to San Antonio history in a community-based digital archive. The organization’s goal is to illuminate San Antonio’s Black history by empowering individuals to curate their own archives and cultivate a community-driven museum of digitized and audiovisual exhibits. The development of the community archive is ongoing. SAAACAM is the proactive steward of cultural and physical preservation of historic African American resources.
