More about Connecticut History Day
Connecticut History Day, an affiliate programs of National History Day (NHD) annually engages thousands of middle- and high-school students in historical research, interpretation, and creative expression through project based learning. The program seeks to bring students, teachers, museums, and scholars together to support young people as they engage in history. Led by the Connecticut Democracy Center, Connecticut History Day (CHD) is an academic program for students in grades 6-12 that teaches critical thinking, writing, and research skills. Students choose a topic related to an annual theme, conduct research, and showcase their findings in one of five presentation categories: Research Paper, Exhibit, Documentary, Website, or Performance. Students may then enter their projects into a series of History Day competitions.
