Dance Kaleidoscope Presents Nothing Is Forever, Darling

Theater Performance Art

What’s Happening?

Singer/Songwriter Rufus Wainwright was once asked in an interview about his future with a lover. The artist simply said, “Nothing is forever, darling.” This quote inspired the title for Christel DeHaan Artistic Director Joshua Blake Carter’s 2009 work. 15 years later, Carter revisits this semi-personal coming-of-age story set to a suite of Wainwright’s music, including “Pretty Things,” “Leaving for Paris,” and “14th Street.” The program also includes the world premiere of Carter’s “Shaker Loops,” set to John Adam’s vibrant score of the same name.
