An Evening with Keith Sykes and Special Guest Roger Cook

Thursday, February 13, at 7:30 PM in the Highland Capital Performance Hall at GPAC.

In the last 40 years, Keith Sykes has become a renowned storyteller and a massively successful songwriter with credits on over 100 songs recorded by artists from Rosanne Cash to George Thorogood. He toured the country with Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and recorded the Volcano album after co-writing the title track with Jimmy. Touring every corner of America and playing in just about every conceivable kind of venue, he has appeared on Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits and hosted songwriter nights on Memphis’ legendary Beale Street with many of music’s most talented songwriters.

Joining Keith Sykes for this special evening is English singer-songwriter Roger Cook. Cook has written many hit records for other recording artists and has had a successful recording career of his own. Best known for his collaborations with Roger Greenaway, Cook's co-compositions have left an indelible mark on the music industry. His works include the enduring hits "You've Got Your Troubles" and the transatlantic million-selling songs "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" and "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress."

In 1997, Cook became the first British songwriter to enter the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
