Lu, returning to Grand Piano Series by popular demand, brings these masterpieces to life with his signature insight and technical brilliance, making for an unforgettable evening dedicated to the Polish icon.

No composer occupies the same space on the Olympus of piano music as Chopin. The beauty, passion, and poetry of the Polish Icon will come alive in the hands of one of the most exciting pianists of our generation, Eric Lu, who is back at the Grand Piano Series by popular demand.

Eric Lu
Eric Lu won First Prize at The Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018 at the age of 20. He has since collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras and presented in major recital venues.

Recent and forthcoming orchestral collaborations include the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Oslo Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, among others. Conductors he collaborates with include Riccardo Muti, Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Sir Mark Elder, Ruth Reinhardt and many more.

Active as a recitalist, he is presented on such stages as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Queen Elizabeth Hall London, Leipzig Gewandhaus, San Francisco’s Davies Hall, Aspen Music Festival, Seoul Arts Centre and Warsaw Philharmonic Hall. In 2025, he will appear for the seventh consecutive year in a recital at Wigmore Hall London. He has also been invited for the seventh time to Warsaw’s Chopin and his Europe Festival.

Lu first came to international attention as a laureate of the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw at age 17. He was awarded the International German Piano Award in 2017 and the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2021. Lu was a BBC New Generation Artist from 2019 to 2022. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music.
