QUADRANT v5.0

Live Music Digital Art Electronic

What’s Happening?

Join us in an evening of auditory exploration as we present the fifth iteration of QUADRANT – a quadraphonic electronic music experience that explores spatial sound performance and realtime video art. Quadraphonic sound, or sound that emanates from 4 speakers surrounding the listener, greatly expands the possibilities for immersive electronic music performances beyond the ordinary. For QUADRANT v5.0, each artist has designed a performance that activates dadaLab's 4-channel spatial audio system for a uniquely immersive sonic experience. Prepare for compositions that challenge convention, transcend stereo, and envelop your senses.

Artists

David Slowing
David Slowing is a producer and musician currently residing in Austin, Texas. He makes ambient, evolving, and melodic compositions with the use of modular synthesizers, machine learning, algorithmic composition, sampling, and acoustic instruments, often around a theme or concept.

Bernard
Bernard is an insatiable performer and producer, chasing samplers, saxophones, and synthesizers across the stage, time, and space. His sound evokes Lynchian soundtracks, dirty beats, and ambient electronic textures. Bernard's structured improvisations are raw, captivating, and occasionally unnerving. For Quadrant v5.0, every accompanying sound is an instant artifact from the live saxophone in the room.

Jaycie Carver
Jaycie Carver is an experimental ambient/noise artist who currently resides in Austin, TX. Taking the phrase "One man's trash is another man's treasure" way too serious, Carver creates haunting and abrasive soundscapes using homemade instruments often constructed from whatever trash from a nearby dumpster can be repurposed.
