Wool Painting Workshop

Textiles Arts & Culture Classes DIY Class

What’s Happening?

This lively three-hour workshop will introduce you to the fascinating technique of “painting” using colorful wool fibers, layered to form intricate designs, all within the charming setting of decoupaged frames. The workshop promises to be a delightful experience for attendees, combining creativity with relaxation and fostering a sense of accomplishment.

Wool painting, also known as "wool watercolor," is a method of creating artwork without traditional brushes, paints, or pencils. Instead, participants will learn to layer colored sheep's wool gradually, forming images with different hues and textures. What makes wool painting particularly appealing is its forgiving nature; mistakes can be easily corrected by removing misplaced fibers and reapplying them, allowing for endless experimentation and artistic exploration.

All materials will be provided to make a portrait-sized take-home wool painting in a decoupage frame.
