Rotary Club of Peachtree City Dragon Boat Festival

What’s Happening?

The Rotary Club of Peachtree City hosts its 14th annual festival celebrating the rich history of racing dragon boats, a 2000 year-old Chinese tradition.

Dragon Boat is the most inclusive and accessible team sport in the world, featuring participants of all ages and abilities.

Imagine an elongated canoe with a dragon’s head carved in the front, a drummer, and ten paddlers sitting side by side, paddling furiously to beat their opponents in a 200 meter race.

This event features dragon boat races, food vendors, craft vendors, entertainment, kid's activities, and so much more.

This year's festival charity partner is Southside Support, which promotes education, training, support, and inclusion opportunities for families and individuals with special needs in the South Metro Atlanta area.

About the Event Host
The Rotary Club of Peachtree City (PTCRC) was established in 1967 and is the oldest service club in Fayette County. We have approximately 110 members. We have participated in several international projects with Rotary Clubs in Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Africa to provide educational support and clean water. As a part of Rotary International, our club has played a key role in the eradication of Polio worldwide in all but the two remaining countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The motto of Rotary International is “Service Above Self”. This motto is something that each of our members represents in all aspects of our daily lives. While there are significant impacts that we can make with financial support, we also desire to do hands-on projects with the organizations and individuals that we serve.
