Her New York-based company tells stories of race and culture through movement. The performances connect history and today's culture to share deeply personal experiences. Strongly character-based, the pieces merge theater, poetry, visual art and music.

Camille A. Brown is one of the most significant choreographers of her generation. She founded the Bessie Award-winning company in 2006. Her Broadway credits include the recent revival of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND and also the live TV special JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Her work has also been commissioned by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and more.

Brown is a Princess Grace Award winner, a Ford Foundation Art of Change Fellow, Jacob's Pillow Dance Award winner and Guggenheim Fellowship recipient.
