PSYCH! A DIAGNOSTIC STAND-UP THERAPY COMEDY SHOW

Other Entertainment Comedy

What’s Happening?

Three comedians take the stage, followed by engaging sessions with licensed mental health therapist and stand-up comedian, Aimee LeCours, LMHC. Together, they'll unravel the mysteries behind the humor, exploring the age-old question, “Why are you like this?” Prepare for an evening of insightful humor and spontaneous revelations, blending stand-up comedy and improvised comedian "group therapy" with the expertise of a mental health professional. It's not just a show; it's Psych! - Where comedy gets a dose of therapy.

Emily Flake makes cartoons for The New Yorker, MAD Magazine, and the New Statesman. She has a weekly strip called Lulu Eightball that carried the jokes that are too vulgar for grown-up publications and too racy for MAD, back when alt-weeklies were strong and we were young. She also creates a bi-weekly cartoon for The Nib, usually about whatever the political or cultural shitstorm du jour is. Emily performs a hybrid of cartoons and stand-up wherein she shows cartoons via the magic of PowerPoint and then tells funny stories. She has performed this at Union Hall, the Bell House, QED Astoria, UCBEast, and a bunch of other places from the fancy to the hopelessly vile. She is also the proprietress of St. Nell’s Humor Writing Residency for Ladies in Williamsport, PA.

Kate Sisk (he/she/they) is a professional stand up comedian, amateur drag king, and retired soccer player from Massachusetts. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Kate has improvised on UCB’s Harold Night, contributed for The Onion, and been selected for the NBC Late Night Writers Workshop. Kate has a new Comedy Central Featuring set out now. Kate’s dynamic stand up comedy about life as a trans person and former member of the Puerto Rico Women’s National Soccer Team has led to appearances in the HBO Women In Comedy Festival and the Finals of the Boston Comedy Festival. When not performing on the road, Kate hosts a comedy and drag variety show in NYC called "The Luke Ass Spectacular". Kate is also the former co-host of the award-winning podcast, "We’re Having Gay Sex". You can find Kate everywhere online under the handle @thekatesisk.
