Phil’s Karaoke All Star Showcase

Performance Art Other Music Karaoke

What’s Happening?

Phils Karaoke on Friday nights from 9:30pm - 1:00am has become a gathering spot for singers of all levels of talent. If you truly want your voice to be heard and appreciated, we welcome you to join us.

Something that has become apparent, by fostering this welcoming atmosphere, Phil’s Karaoke is quickly becoming a magnet for those singers that seem to rise to the top. Phil’s Karaoke All Star Showcase is a way for you to see the hidden talent we have uncovered in these past 7 months. From singers that were only comfortable performing in their car or shower to a bartender that felt more comfortable protected on the other side to some that have been in the St. Louis Musical Theatre but never performed solo. The one thing they all have in common is a voice that you need to hear.

Blue Strawberry prides itself in featuring top notch performers across multiple genres of music. In our four plus years we have presented singers - songwriters - musicians - and unique talent from spoken word and standup comedy to magic and improv. Keeping true to this theme Blue Strawberry has hosted one of the best Open Mic nights in the metro area for 3 years running. Phil’s Karaoke is proud to continue this Blue Strawberry tradition.

Phil’s Karaoke All Star Showcase will feature:
Tori Ray:
Tori is excited to be performing for the first time on the Blue Strawberry stage! Tori is a musical theatre actress who was just recently seen as Mrs. Lovett in Alfresco’s Production of Sweeney Todd. She trained doing performance at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and currently finishing up her degree here in Illinois. Along with theatre she also paints murals and does hair/ makeup! Her dream is to move back to the big apple and share her passions with others. She would like to thank all her friends and family and her black cat “Vader” for supporting her dreams!

Rachel Phillips:
Rachel is a high school senior who has been singing and performing for most of her life. She has appeared in several local theater productions, including Mean Girls (Gretchen) and Mamma Mia (Ensemble). She has also been singing with the St. Louis Children's Choirs for 11 years. Phil’s Friday Night Karaoke has become the highlight of her week, and she is so excited to be singing with this group of friends she has met through this wonderful weekly tradition. Thank you to Mom and Dad, who have been my Blue Strawberry wingmen and biggest fans since day one.

Jenny Strother:
Hi I’m Jenny Strother. Music has always been an influential part of my life. Some of my earliest memories were evenings spent listening to my dad play the guitar and sing. At family functions, someone always had a guitar (or several), and the music went on into the night. While I’ve been singing all my life, I have only recently started singing in public. I fell in love with karaoke about 10 years ago and haven’t stopped! I have also performed in productions with Take a Bow Showcase. Singing professionally has always been a dream of mine and I’m excited to have this opportunity.

Samantha Johnson:
Hey there, I'm Samantha, but you can call me Sam! Music has been my anchor since childhood, singing alongside church groups and my grandfather. Unfortunately, Life led me away from musical pursuits, but it soon found me again when my Husband and I discovered Phil's karaoke at Blue Strawberry. It instantly became my safe haven and outlet to release my passion for singing! The joy of filling a space with my voice and connecting with an audience fuels my soul. Tonight, if I manage to touch just one person with my singing, I'll consider it a grand success.

Alice Buhr:
Hi y’all! I’m Alice and I’ve been bartending here at Blue Strawberry for the past 9 months and an avid karaoke fan for the last 6 years. Singing has always been close to my heart and brought me so much joy. Watching Phil’s karaoke night grow has been incredible to say the least. I consider myself so lucky to be a part of it and the incredible community he’s built here and it’s made Fridays my favorite night of the week. It’s no wonder, I get to see all of the people I’m lucky enough to share the stage with tonight and all of you!

Tory Schleper will also perform.
