What’s Happening?

Mo Egeston All-Stars featuring AhSa-Ti Nu return to Blue Strawberry Saturday February 17th for “That’s the Way Love Grooves” - an evening of modern jazz, soul, funk, Latin, R&B and groove.

For this special event, Mo puts his spin on relationship vibes with some special vocal and instrumental arrangements along with his instrumental originals. And featured artist and songwriter AhSa-Ti Nu will sing some of Mo’s arrangements along with originals from her deep catalog.

Mo Egeston- Keys and Songs
Ahsa-Ti Nu - Vocals and Songs
Duane “Jingo" Williams- Percussion
Andrew Gibson- Drums
Eric "Snoopy" Tyler- Bass

Pianist Maurice "Mo" Egeston spends his musical time leading bands and writing music while also working as a collaborative pianist and educator in both the classroom and private studio. With Mo E (Egeston) All-Stars, he creates a unique groove driven sound and vibe with his originals, reworks and arrangements. It’s a sound that blends influences of jazz, soul, Latin, funk, r&b and electronic music, hallmarks of his style since his days with the pioneering live house/electronic project Urban Jazz Naturals.

For the Celebrate the Groove shows, Mo expands the band’s sound by collaborating with like-minded vocalists and songwriters from the region including frequent collaborator and 2023 Artist Support Grant recipient AhSa-Ti Nu. A multi-disciplinary artist with work rooted in poetry, storytelling, sound engineering and activism, AhSa-Ti Nu utilizes her voice as a means of expressing soulful words in a contemporary context. AhSa-Ti Nu’s influences of gospel, jazz, rhythm and blues and rock continue to shape her goal as an artist: to create music that everyone can connect to emotionally and spiritually.
