MURPH-a-thon


What’s Happening?

This Memorial Day, OSO is offering free admission for all veterans and active military.

OSO is hosting an all-day Murph-a-thon on Monday, May 31 to honor US active duty military and veterans. It’s an all day event, so come whenever your schedule allows, and do it at your own pace. There will be two group-led classes if you prefer to do it with a crew: one at 8:00am, and one at 6:15pm, you can reserve your space on climboso.com, the MindBody app or the Climb OSO app! 


What is a “Murph” and why should we a-thon it, you ask? The workout honors Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who was killed in action in 2005, and service members who have died in combat.


- The “MURPH” workout consists of doing the following (all done as quickly as you possibly can):
1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 unweighted squats
another 1 mile run

-The HALF-MURPH is half of the original:
1/2 mile run
50 pull-ups
100 push-ups
150 unweighted squats
another 1/2 mile run

- The SPRINT MURPH is a quarter of the original:
1/4 mile run
25 pull-ups
50 push-ups
75 unweighted squats
another 1/4 mile run
