Painting Circles

Workshop Paintings DIY Class Arts & Culture Classes

What’s Happening?

Explore painting, mark making, paper collage, and printmaking to create your own personal reflection and expression. This event will offer participants (ages 18+) many tools to create intuitive paintings using a variety of media.

We welcome exploration and playfulness! There are no such things as mistakes!

Designed to reconnect with your own creativity, Painting Circles are private painting sessions limited to 4 adults. All art supplies provided, all classes facilitated inside an art studio and facilitated by Maria Patino, an experienced teaching artist. Masks required and social distancing will be observed to maintain everyone's health and safety.

About the Facilitator
Maria Patiño works intuitively, guided by memories and imagination; her preferred techniques are mixed media and paper collage. She is interested in the aesthetic of color, texture, and form and its potential to communicate universal messages of the past and present. Scraps from old books, old photographs, and other discarded ephemera become elements of her artwork, merging through layers of colors and textures to create a new story about identity, community, and nostalgic reflection of the past. Maria was born in El Cairo Valle, a remote village located in the Andes mountains in Colombia. She has lived in New York and Texas. She received her BFA at School of Visual Arts in NYC, is a multi-media artist and works from her art studio located in The Bird Road Art District in Miami, Florida.
