Kids in the Hy-Vee Kitchen

Local Kid Friendly Cooking Classes Workshop Class

What’s Happening?

We will be making some fun Valentine's day-themed recipes this month! This class is recommended for kids ages 4-8 years old and a parent is required to stay during the class. Each class is limited to the first 15 participants and is taught upstairs in our clubroom (stairs are located right when you come in the south entrance of the store). Please pre-register/pre-pay on Eventbrite only to hold your spot.

***updated 11/29/21*** We will do our best to have one family per table and tables will be spaced apart throughout the clubroom. Each table seats 3 people. Children will all be facing the same direction and a signed event waiver will be required at the beginning of class. Please bring only one parent to the class per child/family and limit bringing children who are not paid participants. Children will have the opportunity to help make the recipes at the front of the room, which will then be distributed to the entire class. Some recipes will be made individually at the child's seat. Hand sanitizer or hand-washing will be required prior to the start of the class and encouraged throughout as needed. Masks are not required of the dietitian or any participants as of 11/29/21 - this is subject to change if mandated by the county.

E-mail the dietitian Laura at ljohansen@hy-vee.com or call Laura at 402-597-5790 for any cancellations due to illness or otherwise, and if your child has any food allergies. This class may contain any of the top 8 allergens. Refunds are not issued unless Laura is notified of the cancellation prior to the start of the class. There is a minimum of 5 children to hold the class and refunds will be issued if we don't have enough participants. Refunds will also be issued if the dietitian is not able to teach the class due to illness.

Menu:

-Hot Pink Chia Berry Smoothie

-Heart-shaped Cucumber Sandwich

-No Bake Heart Cookies

-Valentine's Day Trifle
