What’s Happening?

Nathan is a Democrat who will stand up in the AZ House of Representatives to:

Reinvest in public education: bring per-pupil funding from the current $8,600 to the national average of $13,200; create a universal pre-school program for all three- and four-year-old children in Arizona.
Fight for bills that combat climate change: conserve our water resources and support practices that use water more efficiently in homes, manufacturing, and agriculture; invest in renewable energy generation, distributed storage, and end the use of fossil fuels in electricity generation by 2040; promote electric vehicle and solar panel manufacturing and adoption.
Democracy: create automatic and same day voter registration, restore the Permanent Early Voter List, and permit mail in ballots to be counted so long as they are postmarked by Election Day.
Healthcare: create a universal Medicaid buy-in program; fund local programs to provide basic, preventative healthcare; provide funding to ensure that every Arizona public school has a registered nurse; remove barriers to abortion care and repeal the unconstitutional bans on abortion after 15 weeks.

Nathan Davis was born and raised in Tucson. He is the proud product of Arizona public education and a graduate of Pima Community College and the University of Arizona.

Nathan returned to Tucson after receiving an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University. He and his wife teach in Tucson Unified School District and are members of the Tucson Education Association. Nathan left the classroom last year to run his family’s small business but continues to substitute teach.

Over the years, Nathan realized that the solution couldn’t just come from the classroom, one underpaid teacher at a time, or one business owner paying livable wages and supporting workers. It must come from structural change rooted in sound policy decisions and new ideas.
