Discussion Paintings Art Exhibition

What’s Happening?

Camille Pissarro was a key figure in the Impressionist movement in which artists sought to capture the ever-changing effects of light and weather as they sketched and painted outdoors. Camille eagerly passed down his artistic skills to his children, evident in the prints on view in the A Family Affair exhibition, as well as in books illustrated by Camille’s son Lucien and his wife Esther, who was also an artist.

Join Rachel Urbano, Curatorial Assistant for Prints & Drawings, as they discuss the artistic relationships within the Pissarro family and delight in scenes inspired by the French countryside and urban landscapes.

Support for this exhibition at the Blanton is provided in part by David and Ellen Berman.
