Science Lecture Continuing Education

What’s Happening?

Planet Word is excited to announce a special evening with Wiley Blevins, one of America’s leading experts on phonics instruction, the foundational skill all beginning readers should master. Author of From Phonics to Reading, a program that aligns with the Science of Reading, and his new book Differentiating Phonics Instruction for Maximum Impact, Blevins will share tips and strategies about how differentiation and intervention can help ensure that phonics instruction meets every student’s needs. The presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A.

In his presentation Blevins will discuss:

·       What does Tier 1 high-quality phonics instruction with differentiation look like?

·       What does effective small group intervention instruction look like?

·       What is the role of assessments in intervention?

You’ll leave the presentation with ready-to-use research-based routines, ideas, strategies, and resources!

6:00 – 6:30 p.m. — Light standing reception (Welcome Lobby)

6:30 p.m. — Program begins (Friedman Family Auditorium)
